As we sit here together post-Christmas, we're thinking about our favorite projects and upcoming plans for 2015.
Let's start with our 2014 list:
#1 The Paris Street Market This was our first joint venture and it was a huge success despite lots of heavy lifting. We loved planning, displaying and selling. It was wonderful to see so many of our friends and followers come out for the event as well. View the posts about our goods and the market here, here, here, and here.
#3 Creating a Funky Junk Mailbox Dwight got involved in this DIY project---so much so that we call it "Dad's Project." The results are still holding strong!
#5 A New Old Farm Table Kandy found and refinished an old farm table for Karli's new dining space. It made a huge difference in the transformation of the room!
#6 Giving an Old Christmas Village New Life After years of storage in Kandy's barn, these ceramic houses got a new modern look. Karli is loving the finished product.
#7 Karli's Christmas Tree Makeover After imagining a white, light tree Karli is thrilled with her new ornaments and tree elements.
#8 Painting the Front Door Black Kandy painted her front door in May and hasn't looked back.
As we enter the New Year, we'll be sharing a few things we're excited to start, continue and/or finish in 2015. More to come!
I am almost out of time, so I had better be finished with the holiday decorating. I was waiting for it to snow before taking these pictures, but the weather is just not cooperating. Since Christmas is arriving within days, I decided to show these last final touches anyway. View part 1 and part 2 for more.
The front door area gets traditional Christmas touches with greenery, red berries, and red bows. The chalkboard now greets visitors with Winter Blessings (so it will last on into February). How lazy am I.....making it last all winter?
The shop even gets a wreath and red bow on its door.
The last bit of outdoor décor is sprucing up the "Funky Junk Mailbox". It also gets greenery and a big red bow. (The Mailman loves this!)
I did redo one thing inside that I had shown in the Part 2 post. I had hung a greenery spray by the entry closet but then I found this great distressed black wall hanger "thing-a-ma-jig" at the local thrift store and decided it was perfect.
And then, most importantly of all.......the very reason for the Christmas Season, the Nativity announcing the arrival of the Blessed Christ Child. My Nativity was a gift to me from Karli years ago and is very precious.
I hope that you too have precious memories of this Blessed Season from years past that live forever in your heart. May you move into the New Year filled with Love and Joy.
December is here and I'm spending some very special time decorating my own home for the Holidays. I have finished several of my decorating jobs for other people so I am working on my own. You can see pictures of our tree on this post.
In the entry area I always decorate the top of the East Lake Chest. I like adding pheasant feathers to the greenery and berries. A Santa picture and Dickens book complete the setting.
A pinecone swag hangs to the side of the closet.
At the top of the stairs, a simple greenery pick adds Christmas to the black table.
In the living room, the oak secretary becomes festive with greenery.
An antique sled gets adorned with greenery, pinecones, and a brown bow.
The top of the entertainment cabinet even gets a little greenery. The penny ball was a DIY project. We brought it inside for the winter. See this post about how we made it.
My antique doorknob display only needs a little sprig of greenery for the Holidays.
This cabinet is a vintage music stand which was used to hold records. I painted it black several years ago, replaced the top and added the rope wood molding. It is at one end of our sofa.
Another antique oak table is at the other end of the sofa.
The kitchen table top is in keeping with the "natural" theme as well.
I haven't finished decorating outside. The "funky junk" mailbox still needs a bow. I hope the Christmas decorating is progressing nicely at your house!!

It is that wonderful time of year when we take extra efforts to make our home a warm glowing space where memories are made. December is here and I have finished several holiday decorating jobs for other people. Now it is time for our home. We will be staying home for the holidays this year so it is time to "deck the halls."
I thought I would share a few pictures with you, starting with the tree. I am not really the traditional "red and green" person, so our tree is more natural, with pinecones, bronze, browns, golds, some old brass ornaments, and some newer glass balls.
Our house is a work in progress during the month of December. Keep posted and I'll try to share more photos as Christmas moves into other rooms.

If you follow me on Instagram then you saw a little teaser about my tree this year. It is my very favorite so far and I was thrilled to find so many great ornaments that matched my inspiration look.
Here's the overall look at the tree. Sadly ,one section of lights decided to burn out the night before I took these photos. But you get the idea.
I just love the mix of mercury glass with silver, burlap and white.
This is one of my favorite new ornaments. I wish I could say I made it (and frankly I may get crafty and do something similar) but I found it at my favorite shop called Dwell.
I also found the burlap at Dwell. The white "pinecone" ornaments came from TJ Maxx Home Goods. The silver keys I found last year when we shopped downtown Littleton with Brent's parents. They were on sale after Christmas.
For the mantel, I like to keep it simple. I just add a few sprigs of greenery and some silver bells.
In the front room I added a few things and I have more to go! I love this silver reindeer alongside a basket of pine cones with small silver bells and some greenery.
Right when you walk in our front door, you see our closet door with this simple wreath. I also put a fun banner on the stair rail.
I still have a bit more to do. I need to set up my newly painted village (thanks, MOM!) and work on the outside decorations.
It's a beautiful Sunday afternoon here in Colorado. The snow flakes are just starting to fly, the Broncos are on the TV and I've got my Christmas decorations 90% up.
Earlier this week I got a Stitch Fix box. I hadn't ordered one for almost a year! I love getting these fun boxes of clothes and accessories. If you want to know more about what I'm talking about check out my introduction post.
I requested a few versatile tops that could be dressed or down and a vest. Like usual, the folks at Stitch Fix did a great job and even threw in a surprise for me :)
The first thing I saw was this black and white striped dress. I could tell just by holding it up that it ran small. When I tried it on, it was too tight on my bust and it was too short. I obviously sent this one back.
The next thing I tried on was this cute vest. The material is like a jersey stretch but it almost looks like denim. The interior is lined with a furry gray material. I love all the zippers and the fact that its asymmetrical. I kept this piece!
When I pulled this next top out of the box I immediately knew I'd love it. It was soft and cozy. The back is cut longer than the front, which I love. I kept this top and I've already worn it twice. What a great find!
When I saw this pop of bright blue in the box, I was thrilled. I love tops like this! Unfortunately, this top was also too tight across my bust and the buttons where gaping. I had to send this back.
The final item, I dreaded trying on. They'd never sent me bottoms and I just knew it would be a wasted effort. These skinny ankle jeans are a very dark navy, almost black. To my absolute delight and surprise, these fit like a glove and I LOVE them. I'm keeping these babies! Way to go Stitch Fix!
So I kept three of the five items this time. I consider that a win!! I also had a friend try Stitch Fix for the first time and she loved two of the items in her first box. What fun!
